Travel Info

The park is found on a secluded peninsula reaching into historic McLeod Lake. This area was once admired by explorer Simon Fraser who established Fort McLeod on behalf of the North West Trading Company in 1805. This was the first trading post west of the Rocky Mountains.

The park is the perfect base from which to explore the area. The surrounding forest is filled with lush spruce and cottonwood trees and well as a diverse array of plant life. The nature enthusiast and photographer will be pleased to discover a variety of interesting wildlife, birds and waterfowl including a winter colony of trumpeter swans.
